Good Magazine along with Other Means published an interactive graphic discussing if America can be energy independent. A static view of it appears in Figure 1. Immediately you'll notice that the labels for "Natural Gas,""Nuclear," and "Renewable" extend beyond the heights of the bars. Not only is this design unattractive, but it interferes with our ability to correctly estimate the heights of the bars: the longer words make the bars appear taller than they really are.
